Blogger is a free platform that comforts you to build a website free of cost. To get started, you need to have a Google account, and once you have it, then you will just have to sign up for the Blogger.com and the best thing about Blogger is that you will not have to buy any hosting or domain. It offers you a free subdomain (https://YourBlogName.Blogspot.com). Blogger is a good podium for beginners. As it is free to start. Later on, one can switch to any other platforms like – WordPress etc.
Now, once you set up your Blogger you can now post articles. But you will see your blog very babyish and immature. That is because of your template.

Selecting a perfect template for your website is very crucial. Make sure that your template has all the required fields, tabs, columns that are – Pages (Home, About, Contact us, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer), Recent Posts, Author Profile, Social Media Links. Also, the template must be responsive i.e. Compatible with both desktop and smartphones. While choosing a template, ensure the given points:

  • The template must be simple and have a clean design. Not with multiple colors and with fancy style. It should be very plain and have single color combination with white or any other light-colored background.


  • It should be responsive so that it can be viewed both on desktops and smartphones. As not every home has PCs and Computers that’s why it will help them to view your website in their Mobile phones. Or if someone is travelling and haven’t carried his PC, then too it would help him to search your blog.


  • Must make or consists required pages like – Home, About, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Terms & Conditions, Sitemap etc. And also useful columns like – Social Media Links, Facebook Page Box, Recent Posts, Popular Posts, Archives, Categories, Labels etc.

How to Install Blogger Template [Method – 1]

  1. Download any Blogger Template that best describes your website or chose a template according to your niche. For example, if your website sells products and goods online, then you should use a template similar to it (eCommerce blogger templates) that is designed specifically for selling products online. (Few templates are given below)
  2. Once you download it, look for the file with the extension (.xml) Right Click the (.xml) file and open with any text editor software/application. Now, press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to select and copy the HTML/CSS code of the (.xml) file.

  3. Now, go to Blogger and open Theme tab Three Dots on the Top Right Corner Edit HTML. Once your website’s HTML/CSS code box is opened, press Ctrl+A and Delete/Backspace. Then your code will be deleted. Now, you have to paste the HTML/CSS code that you downloaded by pressing Ctrl+V. After that press the save button to save your new HTML/CSS code.


  4. Go to your website and Boom! You have turned your babyish website into mature and professional. Your blog is now ready for your articles to be posted. Now you only have to change the layout and update your site’s links. Create pages that are mentioned above and you are done.


How to Install Blogger Template [Method – 2]

  1. Download any Blogger Template that best describes your website or chose a template according to your niche. After Downloading it, extract the zip file and keep the (.xml) that will be uploaded. (Few templates are given below)
  2. Now, go to Blogger and open Theme tab Back/Restore Button Choose File (.xml) from the PC. Then upload the (.xml) file that you have downloaded. After selecting the file, press Upload button.


  3. Go to your website and Boom! You have turned your babyish website into mature and professional. Your blog is now ready for your articles to be posted. Now you only have to change the layout and update your site’s links. Create pages that are mentioned above and you are done.
